Christmas applique from paper and other materials

In this lesson we planned to create an unusual Christmas applique. Christmas is the brightest and kindest family holiday. Perhaps, you will immediately have difficulty choosing an object, a central picture, suitable for the given theme. Let's take a paper canvas as a basis, as in a regular postcard. And then, having fantasized, draw a Christmas ornament with the help of different materials. On this winter day it is customary to go to church with the whole family, then light candles, pray, rejoice and celebrate. If many people associate candles with Christmas, then we will depict them on the application. We will also show an imitation of a Christmas wreath - green with red flecks.
To make the applique, prepare:

• paper;
• white thin satin ribbon;
• scissors;
• glue;
• red velcro rhinestones;
• decorative tape;
• pieces of orange, yellow and red corrugated paper;
• a "Merry Christmas" sticker or something similar;
• shiny pen.

How to make an applique for Christmas with your own hands

1. Choose blue paper for the background. It is better to replace the sheet with cardboard or glue soft paper on a thick base.

2. Passing a thin strip of decorative tape clearly along the outline, make a beautiful frame. Such a trick is simply necessary. Immediately the applique will acquire a more ennobled outline, it will look like a real painting that artists create.

3. To make thin candles, we have planned to use thin satin ribbon. But it is not necessarily suitable for such work only this material. With the same success you can replace satin with ordinary paper. But you want to bring some zest to the product, to make the application more alive. Cut 3 strips from the ribbon, you can make them of different sizes. Immediately at the top, stick a congratulatory sticker. When you cut the ribbon pieces, focus on the fact that all of them should fit on the canvas.

4. Glue the 3 candles onto the paper. Place the ribbon clearly vertically.

5. Corrugated paper, thanks to its unusual texture, will allow us to make an imitation of a flame, and if we combine several bright colors, the flame will be hot, but naturally, it will not burn anyone. Cut out a flame blank for each candle - oval parts of orange, yellow, red color, gradually reducing their size. Glue all the parts one on top of the other, creating an interesting effect.

6. Glue a bright flame to each candle. Now we have lit them, but not for real, but virtually. That's how easy paper can realize any fantasy.

7. At the foot of the picture, make a lush imitation of a brightly colored Christmas wreath. This fragment will both decorate our picture and hide all the imperfections at the same time. Draw a few carved leaves on green paper. Cut them out, and then along the contour additionally run a glitter pen. Prepare red rhinestones with Velcro.

8. Glue leaves to the bottom of the drawing, glue a red decoration in the center.

An interesting and unique applique is ready. You can give it to someone as a gift.
