Drawing a human eye seems to many people a difficult task: it is not clear where to start and how to make the drawing as natural and expressive as possible. However, with the help of a simple pencil and step-by-step instructions, even beginners can draw a real human eye. You can follow this step-by-step lesson with your child to help them learn to draw.

Materials needed:

  • simple pencil
  • piece of paper
  • eraser

A step-by-step drawing of an eye:

1. Let's start by marking the contour of the eye. Draw two even arcs on top of each other and connect them so that the corners are formed.

2. Draw a vertical fold of the mucous membrane at the inner corner of the eye, called the third eyelid. Then draw the contour of the iris in the form of a hemisphere, boldly outlining the lower part as in the figure. Draw the pupil and the glare.

3. Next, draw the edges of the upper and lower eyelids and eyelashes. The eyelashes should be natural and voluminous, so do not draw each individual eyelash, but combine some of them in order to further paint. Then draw the iris with uneven, jagged edges.

4. Finalize the drawing. Paint with different intensity the space around the iris, pupil, leaving the glow untouched. Lightly shade the eyelashes and outline the edge of the upper eyelid. Barely noticeably mark the crease of the upper eyelid fold to make the eye look more expressive.

Drawing of a human eye is ready. Of course, when drawing this kind of elements, there is always something to strive for and improve. You can experiment with the intensity of coloring, shades, strokes. Each time you will get a new, more natural result. Photo of the drawn eye.
