This lesson tells how to make an interesting gift for the New Year with your own hands. We are talking about a postcard. Although today in the store you can buy any colorful themed postcard, we still continue to make such crafts with children, because it is so exciting and informative, and also such creativity brings us closer to a wonderful holiday.
To make the planned gift, it is best to take designer paper or cardboard. However, this material is expensive and is not always available. We will replace it with ordinary wallpaper for walls. You probably have some pieces of wallpaper left over from the renovation. Do not throw them away, use them for exciting creativity. The surface of the postcard will turn out textured, colored, rough, unusual - it depends on the type of wallpaper you have available.
Once you've decided on the base, think about what you can depict on your Christmas card. Since we are talking about the most favorite children's holiday, use some symbol, for example, a Christmas tree - small, green, sparkling. It can be drawn, cut out of paper or foil, made of other materials to be creative and not boring. Why not model a Christmas tree from a thin satin ribbon. It will perfectly complement our card. Let's move on to a detailed master class that will help you carry out the process.
To create a gift intended for friends or loved ones, prepare:

  • cardboard or heavy green paper;
  • a small piece of textured wallpaper for the walls;
  • thin satin or green ribbon 0.6 cm wide and about 50 cm long (you will cut off all the excess in the process);
  • A clipping from a package of holiday items "Happy New Year!", "MarryCristmas!" or "Merry Christmas!" or a sticker from a child's kit;
  • glue and scissors;
  • rhinestones or stars from the baby set;

How to make a postcard step by step
1. As mentioned above, instead of expensive and scarce designer cardboard, old wallpaper will work perfectly for our creative work. Cut out a piece the size of a postcard. To make a thick base, glue the wallpaper onto very thick cardboard or use just a scrapbook.

2. From the green paper you prepared, cut another rectangle base, but in size with some starts so that the ends peek out from under the top layer detail. This way we will have a designer card with a green frame.

3. Now the canvas is ready - half done, start decorating elements. You do not need to do something complicated. A postcard in the style of minimalism is also a great creative option. We suggest using a thin satin ribbon of green color to make the outline of a Christmas tree. You can guess that it is the holiday tree that is meant by the shape of the triangular-shaped crown. Glue the lighter burned end of the ribbon. Form the top of the crown. Next, start running the ribbon to the right and left, gluing the ends before the fold. Paper can be used instead of ribbon, but it may soften from the glue and tear.

4. Go down, setting the outline of the triangular shape, lengthening gradually with each successive layer.

5. Reach the bottom of the Christmas tree, but do not cut the ribbon yet.

6. Form a dense stub from the same material.

7. The card can be left like this, it already looks interesting. But if you have a suitable package of Christmas goods with a New Year's theme inscription, cut it out and glue it to the blank.

8. Glue a star to the top of the Christmas tree. Scatter sparkling stones all over the cardboard - this is an imitation of garlands, which are always turned on on New Year's Eve.

Our interesting greeting card is ready. Pack the card in an envelope and give it to the intended recipient.
