How to draw a butterfly with a pencil?

A butterfly is a very beautiful insect with colorful bright wings. In summer, when they fly over the flowers and past us, we want to capture this moment, at least on paper. Thanks to our lesson to draw a butterfly can even the youngest children.

For this drawing lesson we will need:

• a piece of paper;
• a simple pencil (preferably a softer one: 2B or 4B);
• eraser.

Step-by-step drawing:

1. To begin with, we draw a body that looks something like a needle - a vertical stick, pointed at the end (a small head on top, a slightly thicker chest and a sharp tail). On the sides we draw wings - 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom. It is good if the shape of the upper wings will be slightly different from the lower ones.

2. Next we draw different patterns on the wings: on the lower ones we make inner rims, on the upper ones - beautiful figures. On the top of the head we add antennae with small balls at the ends.

3. Draw lines inside the lower wings. Blur the edges of the wings with a pencil (the stronger the pressure, the more saturated the color will be). The color of the wings can be made a little lighter, the body - closer to black. As a result, with a little effort and diligence we get such a beautiful butterfly.
