There is a lot of paper, both colored and plain, as well as cardboard, in every house. It is easy to play with this material, it is not a pity to throw it away, and it is hard to imagine all kinds of paper crafts.

Go to any toy store, and you will be amazed at the huge assortment of dolls, cars, constructors, puzzles, etc. Many of them are expensive - not all parents can afford to buy their son or daughter such a toy. However, store toys usually attract kids for a very short time.

Don't buy everything! And do not be upset that you do not have enough money for the next novelty. At home, you can easily find a lot of developmental items and things that can successfully replace industrial toys.

Add to that the joy of creating together. One of these commonly available materials is plain paper.

The beginnings of creativity

Children who have the opportunity to play with objects at hand - strings, boxes, jars, cereals, rings, sand and paper - grow up not only happier, but also smarter than their peers. Such a baby is significantly ahead of others in development.

The point is not only that the child started sculpting, cutting, sorting objects by color and shape earlier, but also that such games awakened in him the desire for creativity. Self-expression through handwork not only adds dexterity to children, but also trains their intellect. Scientists have long proven the direct connection between the fingertips and the cerebral cortex.

Material

Paper has no specific purpose, so it can be easily given any convenient shape. That's why playing with paper is so useful for kids. Especially during the period of active brain development, i.e. from one to three years of age.

We are used to writing on paper, gluing from it, cutting it into pieces. A child does not have a clear idea, so he can do whatever he thinks of with paper. Children have a lot of imagination and their own plans for this material.

Give a toddler who is under a year old a piece of white paper. He will explore it by touch and taste, quickly noticing that the paper changes shape under the influence of his hands. This in itself is already a valuable discovery for the baby.

Children love to crumple and tear paper, deriving great pleasure from the process. It seems very simple to adults, but in fact, in the child's mind there is a very complex work connected with the understanding of cause and effect, i.e. between a certain action and the result obtained.

The baby tries to change the shape of the paper itself. To do this, he tears it into small pieces. A little later, he will master scissors, learn to cut, fold ships and airplanes out of paper. Depending on the child's developmental stage, paper can be transformed into both very simple and quite complex objects.

Magazines and newspapers

It's hard to find an entire printable in a house where a toddler lives. All because children like to leaf, crumple, tear into pieces. And this is not just a whim, but the most real desire to learn about the world around them. And when your favorite magazine becomes a pile of crumpled paper, do not be too upset. It's just another important step in the child's development.

Remember that it is very important for toddlers to do things with their hands. Remove from their sight everything that is valuable to you, allow them to tear only unnecessary newspapers and magazines. In this case, make sure that the crumb did not eat the paper, do not lick smeared with printing ink fingers. After such games, be sure to wash your baby's hands.

Collection

Collect different kinds of paper. You can use soft, white, colored, heavy, wrapping, cardboard. Everything is suitable for the child's development.

The most popular game among children is paper balls. They can be thrown to each other or to a target, collected in a basket or in a box. With a preschooler it is easy to learn counting, colors, measures of weight, magnitude, length with the help of paper balls. Believe that it will be interesting not only for the baby, but also for you. And how else to play with children depending on their age?

If the child is 1 year old

Explore texture with your baby. Take his pen in yours and run it over cardboard, plain paper, glossy magazines, newspapers. Show him how to crumple the paper, using napkins. You can roll several balls of different sizes. It is easy to roll these balls on a flat surface, toss them to each other, gather them together and scatter them again. You can hide a small toy in one of the clumps. Let the baby unwrap it and find a surprise inside.

If the child is 3 years old

It's time to introduce your child to scissors. Be sure to buy special scissors: light, safe, with rounded tips. Together cut out several strips of paper, decorating them with notches on the sides - fringe.

Five years old child

A preschooler not only knows how to cut and glue paper. He can do origami - the art of folding figures from paper. With the help of origami the future first grader will learn to create new things, to think logically, to imagine. This is a great opportunity to create with their own hands not only toys for themselves, but also gifts to all relatives. You should start with the simplest - with an airplane or a pilot's cap.
