Modular origami heart

To create a romantic little heart in the form of modular origami, prepare:

• pink double-sided paper;
• scissors (even better a box cutter).

How to make a modular heart out of paper

1. To create a beautiful heart made in the technique of modular origami, you should prepare a sheet of heavy double-sided paper. Pink color is dictated by the features of the planned craft. The heart is usually depicted in red or pink.

2. Fold the sheet permanently in half to make 1/32 modules. You will need a total of 27 modules to make a small heart. You need to prepare 27 rectangles. Cutting the sheet of standard format, you will get 32 rectangles, so 5 pieces will remain in reserve. There is a reason and an opportunity to practice.

3. One rectangle further shows how to make a standard module. Fold the rectangle lengthwise in half.

4. Fold the resulting strip across again. This folding step is necessary to highlight the center.

5. Unfold the narrow double strip. Lift up first one corner, then the other corner to highlight the airplane-like pattern.

6. Turn the other side of the piece toward you. Fold in the small corners.

7. Pull down the folded tails to form a triangle with a slit in the middle.

8. Fold the resulting triangle in half along the height to highlight the module with the slit in the center. This will be the original workpiece.

9. Make 27 identical modules, start assembling.

10. Take one module as a base. This will be the first layer - add one module on top of the tails. The second layer will consist of two.

11. third layer - 3 modules, with the two middle tails threaded through one module.

12. Then continue the design with 4 modules.

13. Further increase the number of patterns by 1 - 5 pieces. And finish the wide part with 6 pieces. Fill the outside of the heart by adding 2 and 1 pieces on both sides.
