How to make a rose out of paper

Today we offer you to make a realistic and voluminous rose from crepe (or corrugated) paper.

So, let's prepare all the necessary tools and materials for work:

- green crepe or corrugated paper;
- dark green colored paper;
- scissors;
- a simple pencil;
- thin wire to create the leaves;
- ordinary florist wire for the stem frame;
- light-colored stationery rubber bands;

Let's start making our rose

Step 1

First, create the stem of the future paper rose. Cut a green ribbon of crepe paper and then wrap it around a piece of wire.

Step 2

Next, we start to form the rosebud. For this we need a rectangular piece of yellow crepe paper. Fold the piece several times. Stretch the blank to the sides, making a small depression in the center.

Wrap the yellow ribbon around the end of the stem. Fix the lower part with green crepe tape.

Step 4

Next, we create the petals of the rose. We need to prepare ten pieces of yellow paper. After folding them in half and draw the outline of the future petals on top.

Cut the petals out of the paper.

Before we start assembling the bud, we give all the petals a natural shape. Stretch each piece so that you get realistic petals like these.

Step 6

Start gluing the petals to the base of the bud.

The tips of the last lower petals are slightly tucked in with the stem.

Then glue them on as follows.

When the bud is formed, create the flower peduncle. Fold two or three silicone rubber bands several times and put them on the stem. Move them to the base of the bud.

Then we work the rubber bands with green crepe tape.

Step 9

Also create the sepals of the rose. Fold the crepe ribbon in four times and cut out leaves like these.

Step 10

Cut out leaves from green colored paper, and wrap a small section of wire with crepe tape.

After gluing the leaves to the wire.

Step 11

Use the ribbon to attach the leaves to the stem. Fold the triple leaf to the side.
