🌹 Chic Origami Rose: A Classic in 5 Steps

This rose, based on the popular Kawasaki model, looks incredibly complicated, but we've adapted it for quick and easy results. It's voluminous, realistic and will be the queen of any paper bouquet.

What you'll need:

  • A square sheet of double-sided colored paper (15x15 cm). Red, pink or burgundy would be ideal. ❤️
  • Your hands and a little patience!

Step-by-step master class:

Step 1: Create a fold grid
Lay the square with the colored side facing down. Fold it in half horizontally and vertically to make cross folds. Unfold it. Now fold along both diagonals. You will have a sheet with a grid of 8 triangles.

Step 2: Shape the base of the spinneret
Turn the sheet over. Now fold it in half diagonally to make a triangle. Pull the right and left corners of the triangle to the top corner, aligning them at the same point and flattening them. You will have a shape similar to a square with two pockets.

Step 3: Laying Petals
Open one of the pockets. You will see an inner flap. Gently fold its top corner down, forming a clear triangle. This is the future petal. Repeat this action with the remaining three pockets.

Step 4: Raising the bud.
Turn the piece over. You will see four petals pointing to the sides. Gently take them one by one and bend them upwards to form a cone. Now your flower already resembles an unopened bud.

Step 5: The final touch is the twisting.
The most magical beginning! Find a sharp tip in the center of the bud. Gently take it with tweezers or just with your fingernails and start slowly twisting it clockwise. 🌹 The rest of the petals themselves will start to open and wrap around the core beautifully. Correct them with your fingers, giving the flower a natural shape.

💮 Sacred Lotus: The Flower of Harmony in 6 Steps

The lotus is a symbol of purity and enlightenment in many cultures. Its layered petals look mesmerizing, but folding them is easier than it looks! This flower is perfect for table decorations or as a meditative craft.

What you'll need:

  • A square piece of paper (15x15 cm). It is better to choose white, light pink, blue or yellow paper for the lotus.
  • Scissors (one time only!).

Step-by-step master class:

Step 1: Base Square and cuts
Fold the basic Double Square shape (as for the crane). You will have a shape with one open corner. Place this open corner at the bottom. Now take the top layer and fold its right and left edges to the center line. Turn the piece over and repeat on the other side.

Step 2: Opening the first petals
Carefully open the pockets you just made. Inside you will see petals. Gently bend each of the four triangles upwards. This is the first tier of your lotus petals.

Step 3-5: Repeat and create volume
You will now see a new shape with a sharp bottom. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with this new, smaller layer. Again fold the edges to the center on both sides, and then fold the resulting triangles up. This will be the second tier of petals. If you wish, you can also make a third, smaller tier by repeating the procedure again.

Step 6: The Magic of Disclosure
Your lotus is almost ready, but it looks like a closed bud. Now it's time for it to bloom. Gently, starting at the outer tier, bend each petal backward, giving it a curved, natural shape. Do the same with all subsequent tiers. The more petals you bend back, the more lush and beautiful your flower will be. ✨

🎀 Ideas for inspiration: Your personal paper garden

The finished flowers are just the beginning! Here's how you can use them:

  • Bridal bouquet: Gather 7-9 roses and lotuses, add greenery from green paper and tie with satin ribbon. It will be an unforgettable and everlasting bouquet. 💍
  • Decorations for a gift box: Glue a small flower on the lid of the gift instead of a bow.
  • Tassel earrings: Make tiny roses, coat them with lacquer for durability and attach them to the links.
  • Flavorful decor: Drop a drop of your favorite essential oil into the center of the lotus and you have your own personal aroma locket for your closet or car.

Create with pleasure and remember that even the most beautiful things can be born quickly, if you just know the magic secrets of origami! Your paper garden is waiting for its flowers. 🌸
